Ich heiß K. W. ich bin seit … gut zwei Jahren in Berlin, ich bin ähm freie Journalistin, ich studiere noch … nebenbei, (lacht) und, jo, ich wohne hier auch in der Gegend.

Was hat dich nach Berlin gebracht?

Ähm, beruflich und auch das Studium. Genau.

Was hattst du vorher für’n Bild von Berlin und wie hat sich das verändert dadurch dass du …  da bist, wie ist das geworden quasi?

Also, Berlin hat man, hat man ja immer gehört: „vibrant city“, und äh dass hier immer was los ist, und gute, eigentlich halbwegs gute beruflich äh Möglichkeiten gibt, nich so wie im Rest von Brandenburg z.B., deswegen bin ich auch hierher gezogen, um das ‚n bisschen zu entwickeln – und von den Leuten her es gibt kein, ja kein Zentrum in Berlin, sprich: man kann sich überall irgendwo heimisch fühlen, egal an welcher Ecke man is.

Wo kommst du genau grad her und wo gehst du genau grad hin?

Ich komm grad aus dem, aus der Wäscherei, (lacht), ähm, ich geh jetzt gleich zur Apotheke un danach geh ich nach Hause meine Suppe weiterkochen und dann zurück wieder, um meine Wäsche abzuholen.

Wo wohnst du genau?

Ich wohne hier um die Ecke.

Welche Straße?

Neue Bahnhofstraße.

Und wie ist das, hier zu wohnen?

Es is sehr schön. Also die Leute sind nett, ähm, man kennt sich, man kennt sich untereinander, man kennt die Leute hier, ähm, ja is sehr nett, is sozusagen eine kleine dörfliche Gemeinde.

Was ist für dich „geworden“ seit du hier bist, also auch, wie hast du dich vielleicht verändert, wie hat sich dein Leben verändert?

Also, es ändert sich ja alles so’n bisschen latent, ne? Also man kann das ja nie irgendwie tatsächlich festmachen, woran das eigentlich ist, ähm, man is halt…, also, um das ’n bisschen schräger zu formulieren: Man is halt im Berliner Flow. Man weiß ja erst, also, was sich geändert hat, wenn man hier wieder wegmuss. Oder wenn man die Aussicht hat, irgendwie weg gehen zu können oder zu müssen, und wie das bei mir zum Beispiel is, dass ich mein Studium bald beende, und ich weiß es nicht, ob ich es ob ich ein in Berlin ähm, das weiter aufbauen kann oder ob ich doch irgendwo anders hingehe. Mir tut das jetzt schon eigentlich schon so’n bisschen leid, weil mir das alles hier fehlen wird.

Denkst du, dass hier mehr „Werden“ ist, mehr „Flow“ ist, als in ’ner andern Stadt?

Em … ehrlich gesagt, das denke ich nicht. Das ist eigentlich in jeder Großstadt is, is dieser „Flow“; was hier natürlich in Berlin sehr prägnant ist, das is, is hier die Kultur. Es gibt hier überall an der Ecke, an, an allen Ecken gibt es irgendwelche em eigenen Projekte von Künstlern, es gibt unglaublich viele Galerien, es gibt unglaublich viele engagierte Leute, die in kleinen Läden irgendwas aufziehn und machen, das gibt’s in andern Großstädten eigentlich gar nicht so, also dort sind eben nur die etablierten Leute, und hier gibt’s wirklich die kleinen …, die kleinen Künstler und die kleinen engagierten Leute, die hier irgendwas machen und da auch halbwegs über die Runden kommen mit natürlich finanzieller Unterstürzung von Berlin und – ja, wie gesagt, ’ne Berlin is em, arm, aber sexy. So gesehn.

Ich hatte noch eine Frage, äh, die is mir grad entwischt … Was wünschst du dir, was noch wird, heute? Und was ist heute schon geworden für dich.

Heute is geworden, ich hab’ meine Liste halbwegs abgearbeitet, ich hab’ meine Suppe gekocht, ich war in der Wäscherei, ich werd’ jetzt gleich zur Apotheke laufen (lacht), und wenn da gut läuft, dann werd’ ich noch meine Wohnung aufräumen, em, vom Berliner Staub, der sich irgendwie jeden Tag ansammelt – ich weiß gar nich woher dat alles kommt, und em- ja, und wenn der Tag gut läuft, dann werdich mich heute auf meine Couch setzen, ’n Video ausleihen und – genau. ’Nen schön gemütlichen machen.

My name is K. W. I’ve been in Berlin for … long two years, I am er a freelancer journalist, I’m still studying … besides that (laughs) and, yeah, I also live in this area here.

What brought you to Berlin?

Er, jobwise and also my studies. Exactly.

What kind of picture did you have of Berlin before that and how has it changed for you by … being here, how has it “become” in a way?

Well, Berlin you always, it says: “vibrant city” and, er, that there is always something happening here, and that there are good, halfway good job er opportunities, not to compare with the rest of Branden burg for example, that’s also why I moved here, to develop this a little bit – and, when it comes to the people, there is no, yes there is no centre in Berlin- means: you can feel at home everywhere anywhere, doesn’t matter which corner you are at.

Where exactly are you right now coming from and where exactly are you going to?

I’ve just come from, from the laundry (laughs) er, I go to the pharmacy now and after that I go home to continue to cook my soup and then back again to fetch my washing.

Where exactly do you live?

I live around the corner.

And what’s it like to live here?

It’s very nice. I mean, the people are nice, er, you know each other, you know the people around here, er, yes, it’s very nice, is, so to say, a little rural community.

What has “become” for you since you’ve been here, also means – how have you maybe changed, how has your life changed?

Well, everything changes a little bit in a latent way, doesn’t it? I mean, you can’t really pin it down somehow to something in a way, er, you are …, well, to put it a little bit more slopingly: Well, you are in the “Berliner Flow”. You only see what has changed, I mean, when you have to leave this place. Or when you have the option to leave somehow or have to leave, and, the way it is for me now, I’m going to finish my studies soon, and I don’t know if I if I can build it up in Berlin er, if I can continue to build it up or if I go somewhere else. Already I feel a little bit sorry about it because I will miss all this.

Do you think that there is more “Werden” (Becoming)  here, more “Flow” compared to other cities.

Er … to be honest, I don’t think so, no. It is in every big city it is, this “Flow” is; something that is very prominent, her in Berlin, is of course the culture. Everywhere at the corners there is, at, at every corner there is some er project of the artist’s own, there is an unbelievable amount of galleries, there is an unbelievable amount of motivated people that do something here and also get by somehow, halfway, with, of course, financial support of Berlin and – yes, as I said, didn’t I? Berlin is  er poor, but sexy. If you see it like this.

I had another question there, er, it just escapes me … what do you wish for to “become” today yet? And what has already become for you today?

Today has become …. I’ve already worked myself halfway through my list, I cooked my soup, was at the laundry, will go to the pharmacy soon (laughs), and if that goes fine, I will tidy up my flat, er, from the Berlin dust which somehow collects every day – don’t really know where it all comes from, and er – yes, and if the day is running well, then I will sit down on my couch, borrow a video and – exactly. Have a cozy one.
