Gryphiusstrasse, Boxhagener, yeah?

Gryphiusstrasse and Boxhagener.

One more time.

The Corner of Gryphiusstrasse and Boxhagener Strasse

Okay.  Then, start just by saying who you are, where you’re from, um, how long you’ve been in Berlin, what you do here.

Okay.  My name is Victor.  I’m here in Berlin since, uh, the ten of Jul, of, uh, June.  I’m doing, uh, practicum, in uh, (?), in uh, (?) for an architecture, agency.  And uh, I just live here in Weserstrasse 120.  And uh, it’s okay.

How do you live there?  With other people, or?

Yeah, with two guys.  Uh, I met them here. And uh…

Okay, um.  What’s your impression of this particular area here, Friedrichshain?

Uh. It’s, moves a lot, and uh, got nice, uh, streets, with a lot of green areas and, and it’s very (?) Yeah, it’s a good place, I think.

Is this your first time in Berlin?

Yeah.

How was your impression before and how, how does what you experience here fit with your, impression before you came to Berlin?

Um, well, I didn’t have any impression before.  Yeah, many of my friends told me it was a great city.  Yeah, it, it fits pretty, to my, to my first ideas, I had.

And where are you from exactly, in France?

From, uh, Strasburg.

Okay.  I’m from Freiburg, so, it’s quite close.

Okay, yeah, I know.

Okay, where are you coming from and where are you going?

Uh, I don't know.  I’m just visiting. I’ve never been there, to this side.  So I’m, just walking around.

You’re free today?

Yeah.

What else are you going to do today?

Well, tomorrow night I’m going to a party, with uh, my uh, a guy I live with.  And so I meet them at six, and until then, I don’t know.  I’m going to eat a bit.  To, to see plenty of things.

If you should describe you’re impression of Berlin, or maybe even if you can specifically, this area, what three words would you choose for it?

Uh, uh, strange speaking, strange speak.  Um, uh, clean.  Uh, difference.

And, how, how does it affect you to be here?  How, what, what becomes of you here in this place, and Berlin, and, through what you’re doing here?

Uh, I don’t know yet.  I mean, three weeks.

Well, that’s three weeks.

Yeah.  Um, maybe I’m, I’m learning German.  I’m getting better.

Say your favorite word in German.

My favorite word.

Yeah.

Uh, (?)

Say that again.

(?)

(Laugh)

(Laugh)

Okay, um, what has become for you today already and what do you expect today to become?  What do you think today might, happen, become for you, change for you?  I don’t know.

Well, well tonight is my first, uh, big party in Berlin, so, I expect to meet some people, and uh, yeah, there’s not very much, would happen until now, because I just uh, woke up uh, two hours ago, so.

Thank you.
